Would you like to lead a team of project support staff working in the Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability Research space? Would you like to support high-profile research projects, supporting collaborations across multiple institutions and with government? Do you have a background in project management with strong organisational and communication skills needed to support researchers and co-ordinate key activities? Do you have a background in supporting and developing projects in the Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability research space?
This is a new role which will provide leadership of a small team of staff who support a variety of projects associated with Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability Research in the School of Earth and Environment at the University of Leeds. In this role, you will also provide Project Management support to key research projects. In the first instance, you will support the delivery of the "Production and Consumption Transformations Centre (PACT), a five year DESNZ/EPSRC funded project looking at delivering the UK's climate mitigation ambitions with a particular focus on industrial resource efficiency and household consumption.
As the team leader for the Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability Team, you will co-ordinate the team, providing line management to team members, and overseeing strategic workforce planning to enable the team to continuously support projects in relevant research areas. You will act as a point of contact within the School, responding to additional resourcing requests appropriately and if necessary, expanding the team to meet demand. As a project manager, you will lead on the project management and co-ordination of activities, including strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation to ensure that project commitments and deliverables are achieved in a timely manner; reporting on spending, monitoring and reporting progress against objectives; organising and engaging in project meetings; liaising with the project team and wider programme partners; overseeing the production of content for the project, and media channels; and supporting the day-to-day project management needs.
You will be extremely organised, have experience in supporting and co-ordinating large and complex projects in the Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability space, with a detailed working knowledge of the research and government agendas in this sector. Ideally, you will have experience of providing leadership of a team and be able to demonstrate excellent team working skills with an ability to work in a cross-disciplinary team, as well as a commitment to excellent collaborative working.
