The provision of a world class energy and utility management service to high-profile clients covering their portfolio's. Working for a leading Facilities Management provider comprising multiple premises, both owned and sub-let throughout the UK.
An account Energy Manager is required to operate on a regional basis across the client's sites in the UK. Taking a key role in supporting the delivery of year on year energy saving reductions to meet our client's ambitious energy and carbon reduction targets.
Key Responsibilities
To ensure the effective management of energy resources to meet ISS's and client's objectives and targets.
To identify, develop and support the implementation of new energy and water related opportunities, to improve efficiency and reduce consumption.
Carry out all energy related tasks to ensure service provision and compliance
To inform, motivate and train colleagues and customer organisations in good energy and water management practices
Maintain a good understanding of utility (energy and water) requirements (legal, statutory and technical issues) which are applicable to and/or affect the clients business.
Promote energy efficiency and provide advice and support for the development of energy efficient practices
Complete benchmarking activities to identify and prioritise sites for energy survey
Undertake energy surveys in a range of customers premises (offices, manufacturing facilities and retail)
Work both independently and in support of the wider Energy Management team to determine energy conservation measures (ECM's) with associated Return on Investment (ROI)
Develop and advise on energy solutions, developing these into working projects
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Qualifications
Completion of a recognised degree or equivalent in energy, building services or engineering (e.g. mechanical or electrical)
Full UK Driving License.
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience in energy management or a similar engineering profession
A good understanding of the principal techniques and technologies which support the efficient use of energy
Understanding of opportunities to support improved efficiency and reduced consumption of water
Accreditation to a relevant industry body (e.g. CIBSE, EI, ASHRAE)
Competent in current energy and utility benchmark techniques and statistical analysis
Understand the principles behind energy metering to ensure that data quality is optimised
Understand how energy markets work, the principles behind energy billing and how energy savings translate into cost reduction
Knowledge of energy M&T software
Able to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at different levels of a business
Understand the principles behind HVAC, refrigeration and lighting operation and system design / integration
Knowledge of BMS and control theory to drive energy savings
Able to contribute to detailed energy surveys and feasibility studies of energy technologies (eg ASHP)
Knowledge of customer operations, business drivers, financials and specialist sources of information, legislative requirements where necessary
