About The Role:




Energy Quantity Surveyor





At FES Support Services, part of the OCS Group, we aim to reduce our client's energy consumption, costs, and carbon emissions whilst offering renewable energy solutions tailored to their specific needs. Our Energy division uses a range of innovative energy generation and distribution technologies to achieve this. We have built and continue to build our reputation in the Energy and renewables sector. This has been developed through our expertise and integrated turnkey services available on offer, to become a market-leading provider of energy conservation, generation and distribution services. FES Support Services invest in the professional development of our people. The approach adopted throughout the business is to encourage and support every employee in achieving their career aspirations. Due to continued success and expansion within our Energy Division, we are currently looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The candidate will have experience with building services or energy sector projects such as HV Infrastructure, district heating, Solar PV or BESS. Project values range from 50k to 20million.






Key Responsibilities:




Ensure contractual obligations are flowed down appropriately and in the correct manor, in line with scope, price and programme. Capable of valuing and interpreting contractor applications and quotes. Proven ability to submit detailed Applications for Payment in a timely manner Identifying, reviewing and detailing variations, the preparation and submission of detailed prices including supporting documentation for agreement Understanding of timely notifications Preparation of all necessary supporting documentation in support of Final Account submission including negotiating the settlement of the Final Account Analysing actual costs and future expenditure to ensure accurate reporting Pursuing Notices or Certificates for Payment, and the resultant payments that become due Reporting by exception of any matter or event that is likely to impact the forecast outturn of a project Processing, drafting and issuing Subcontract Orders to meet contract requirements, valuing the work undertaken by Subcontractors, issuing the appropriate Notices and processing payments as necessary Be aware of the agreed programme and be able to identify delays to the progress of the works and report this to Project Manager/Commercial Director for review

People Management


Capable of working in a team environment supporting colleagues and providing advice on all commercial matters when necessary Understanding Client requirements and always conducting business in a professional manner Good communication skills, both oral and written. Good listening skills and capable of interpreting directions.

About You:

Mandatory


Excellent IT skills, including advanced Excel Experience of administering Construction Contracts Communication, presentation and interpersonal skills Quantity Surveying and commercial experience



Preferred


Professional or Trade related vocational qualification. Experience administering Framework Agreements

Proven negotiation skills. Ability to think logically, and an aptitude for creative thinking. A high level of numeracy and commercial awareness. Ability to work equally well in team situations or on own. Strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage and prioritise resources. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to meet tight deadlines. Receptivity and adaptability to change. Good influencing skills Good understanding of Commercial functions to prioritise tasks accordingly
