Acteon are currently looking to hire an International Trade Compliance Manager to support their Energy Services Division\'s businesses on a full time, permanent basis. Based in the UK, the International Trade Compliance Manager (ITCM) will oversee all trade compliance activities in Acteon locations. The ITCM will liaise with Acteon divisional companies to ensure robust trade compliance policies and procedures are in place and provide technical guidance and thought leadership in all areas of compliance. Instituting and managing an efficient and effective Trade Compliance Program for Acteon companies globally out with the USA, being the primary contact point for all compliance matters across the division.

Duties

  • Implementation of import and export procedures at all sites.
  • Ensuring that all applicable Acteon products are classified for export and import in accordance with regulations of the European Union, United Kingdom, and Singapore.
  • Developing an annual action plan specifying the objectives of the Trade Compliance function for each Divisional Company.
  • Supporting the determination of license requirements and license exceptions or exemptions, as appropriate, for all transactions referred by Acteon Divisional Companies.
  • Supervising, monitoring, and auditing Trade Compliance within the division, providing day-to-day Trade Compliance support for export and import activities.
  • Producing, reviewing, analysing, and publishing Trade Compliance process metrics for applicable sites and Acteon management.
  • Maintaining a Trade Compliance Training Program to ensure all sites are updated on trade compliance matters as they impact their business.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of all applicable Export & Import regulations and provision of thought leadership to divisional management.
  • Maintaining contacts with government regulators, as appropriate, subject to coordination with the Acteon Group Compliance and external Trade counsel where applicable.
  • Monitoring, supporting, and enforcing the screening of all business partners by all operating companies. Adhering to Group statements regarding sanctions process to ensure export transaction screening of all End Users and intermediaries.
  • Undertake root cause analysis of trade compliance breaches to understand why they happened. Use this knowledge to develop associated mitigating actions to prevent further breaches elsewhere and to strengthen the training programme.
  • Play an active part in the Acteon Group Compliance forum meetings to drive the compliance agenda forward.
  • Maintenance of divisional Conflicts of Interest and Gifts & Hospitality registers; ensuring registers are up to date and all entries are reviewed and in accordance with Acteon\'s policies.
  • Assisting with delivery of Acteon\'s ABC awareness training for all staff and provision of training for individuals that operate in higher risk bribery and corruption roles.
  • Assisting with divisional business partner due diligence process, including the provision of guidance to the business as first line of defence on appropriate due diligence; ongoing oversight of divisional business partner relationships that are in place including regular review of transactions, annual reviews of agents, TRACE reports or signed certification.
  • Assisting with divisional compliance with Acteon\'s policies related to anti-money laundering and tax evasion.
  • Regular risk assessments of divisional operations and supply chains to ensure compliance with Acteon\'s anti-slavery policy.
  • Monitoring and auditing to ensuring we maintain and adhere to robust supplier due diligence processes.
  • Undertaking periodic audits on suppliers and requesting certifications of compliance.
  • Assisting with delivery of Ethical Trading and Anti-Slavery training.
  • Liaising and assisting the divisional data protection champion to ensure compliance with local legislation related to the processing of personal data of its employees, suppliers, clients and other third parties.
  • Regular audit of divisional data processing registers and data transfer mapping.
  • Assisting with delivery of Data Protection training.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in an organisation with global Export/Import responsibility.
  • Demonstrable understanding and experience of E.U. Export control environments including ITAR.
  • Roles with responsibility for development and implementation of workplace compliance programmes.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering a step change in compliance culture and behaviours within an organisation that operates in a high-risk environment.
  • A degree in a relevant qualification or membership of a professional body
  • Confidence and ability to challenge others in a constructive and meaningful way.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders in both written and verbal format.
  • Willingness and ability to be hands on as and when needed.
  • Strong interpersonal adaptability with the ability to rapidly build relationships with a variety of individuals from a range of cultures and backgrounds.
  • Strong influencing skills with ability to deliver through others.
  • Works collaboratively and aligns self to Group strategy and ambitions.
