We're looking for a proactive and community-focused Enforcement Officer to join our dynamic Community Protection Unit. This is your chance to be part of a team that tackles poor housing standards and environmental crime head-on and works to create cleaner, safer neighbourhoods across Rotherham.

What You'll Be Doing



Leading investigations into housing standards and environmental crimes in the private sector, with a focus on both enforcement and education. Taking enforcement action and supporting wider intervention activities to improve local environments. Collaborating with Environmental Health Officers and Community Protection Officers to deliver joined-up solutions. Building strong relationships with local communities and stakeholders to drive positive change.

What We're Looking For



A motivated individual with a genuine commitment to community improvement. Strong teamwork skills, but also confident working independently and managing your own caseload. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. Flexibility, resilience, and a willingness to learn and grow. Knowledge of housing construction, housing law or experience of building is an advantage.

Appointments will be made at Band F or Band G depending on experience. To be considered for Band G, you'll need to demonstrate a strong track record of delivering enforcement and investigation work.

Until 31st March 2026 existing employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year.
