The Opportunity



We are looking for a Social Impact and Engagement Manager to join our team at Sellafield on a permanent basis. The Social Impact and Engagement Manager will be a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our social impact strategy in line with our commitments to Sellafield LTD. Reporting into the People Business Partner, the Social Impact and Engagement Manager will design, implement, and evaluate programmes that strengthen community relationships, promote social value, and align with our broader people strategy. This is a strategic and hands-on role, perfect for someone passionate about inclusive growth, stakeholder engagement, and making a tangible difference in the community.

How you will make an impact



Develop and lead the implementation of our Social Impact and Engagement strategy aligned with organisational goals and contractual commitments. Collaborate with the People Team to embed social impact initiatives into our People & Culture agenda. Establish and maintain strong relationships with local communities, education institutions, voluntary sector partners, and government stakeholders. Drive initiatives in areas such as education outreach, employability, STEM engagement, social mobility, and local economic development. Lead the delivery of measurable social value outcomes, tracking impact using recognised frameworks and metrics. Support internal communications and training efforts to embed a culture of social responsibility across the business. Coordinate employee volunteering, community investment, and partnership programmes. Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives through targeted engagement activities. Monitor sector trends, legislation, and best practices across the industry.

What you will bring



Proven experience in a social impact, CSR, public engagement, or related role--ideally within infrastructure, energy, or highly regulated sectors.

Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across diverse groups internally and externally.

Experience delivering community programmes or partnerships that drive measurable impact.

Solid understanding of social value policy frameworks and reporting methodologies.

Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills.

Ability to think both strategically and operationally.

Passionate about people, place, and purpose, with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.

These things are not essential, but it would be an advantage if you also had:

Degree or professional qualification in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, communications, public affairs, sustainability, HR).

Knowledge of the nuclear or energy sector

The salary for this role is competitive and comes with the following benefits:
