Responsibilities
The post holder will:
Engage with pharmacies, contractors and key stakeholders to support the delivery of national and local pharmacy services in Liverpool.
Provide support to pharmacy contractors relating to the contractual obligations of pharmacy and issues that impact their pharmacy business.
MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB:
Provide support to contractors relating to the contractual obligations of pharmacy.
Support contractors with issues that impact on their pharmacy business.
Identify opportunities and assist in the development of new services for delivery through community pharmacy.
Work with and challenge service commissioners, being an advocate of community pharmacy with local external partners, encouraging standardisation of locally commissioned services.
Create and maintain support material for service delivery, identify trends in performance using data, improve delivery of existing services and support effective payment of services.
Monitor service activity to enable the LPC to track delivery of services.
Deliver training to contractors and other stakeholders e.g. GPs
Ensure that strong relationships are built with stakeholders including GP practices, Primary Care Network staff, colleagues across Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board (ICB), community pharmacy teams.
Develop and enhance relationships with all parties to improve and support education, training and service delivery.
Maximise community pharmacy participation in services.
Maximise GP practice engagement in services, especially referrals of appropriate patients.
Attend and engage with relevant stakeholder meetings.
Job Responsibilities
1. Contractor Support:
First point of contact for general contractor support and service delivery queries for locality issues.
Designing and delivering training sessions for pharmacy teams.
Share best practice in the delivery of national and locally commissioned services.
Work with pharmacy teams to support and improve delivery of pharmacy services.
Assist with maximising community pharmacy income from all available services and contractual opportunities.
Support contractors to deliver services with consistent quality, in accordance with the service level agreement.
Provide information and support to the contractors in the LPC area on matters such as IT platforms, NHS regulations, health policy, provision of local services and local negotiations.
2. Communications:
Communicate effectively with pharmacies, contractors, key stakeholders and LPC members.
Act as a representative of the LPC at meetings and other events as required by the LPC to your expertise
Develop LPC Magazine with support from LPC team members
Provide content for contractor support communication channels, including briefings, newsletters, magazine, information sheets, meetings etc.
Where required, create content to support communication to contractors about advanced and locally commissioned services so that they feel engaged and are encouraged to provide high quality services.
Where required, create content to support communication to contractors regarding compliance with and updates to the National CPCF.
Support Service Manager in the communication of locality-specific messages.
Represent the interests of contractors in the LPC area on confidential issue's in accordance with the CPE governance guidelines on confidentiality.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
Support with developing effective partnership working with the key stakeholders in the NHS England Regional team, Cheshire & Merseyside ICB, Local Representative Committees (LRCs), Local Authorities, primary care and secondary care where relevant to role.
Develop knowledge of existing pharmacy services, professional developments, and commissioning priorities to promote community pharmacy and raise the profile of community pharmacy services with key stakeholders.
4. LPC Support:
Support in the development of the strategic plan.
Work with neighbouring LPCs to facilitate delivery of contractor support and service delivery.
Complete actions identified during LPC Committee meetings.
Carry out other duties commensurate with the post as required or directed by the LPC or Chief Officer.

This is a remote working post and the post holder will be required to travel across the Liverpool and wider Merseyside area.
