An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineer to join our team at Runnymede Borough Council to help to deliver an exciting new bus shelter contract of 73 new shelters accross the borough.
Reporting to the Principal Engineer, the Engineer will:
Manage the borough's bus shelter supply and maintenance contract to maximise income generation for the Council.
Manage the inspection and maintenance of borough roads, bridges and street furniture, and project manage the works.
Assist in the management of the borough's Minor Engineering and Construction Works Term Contract.
Reviewing planning applications ensuring appropriate flood risk management measures (SuDS and Flood Warning Evacuation Plans) are incorporated on proposed development and responding to consultations in a timely manner.
Liaise and advise on all aspects of engineering and flood risk with other departments, residents, Councillors and Risk Management Authorities.
Assist with the management of the Borough's land drainage maintenance and capital works programmes.
Assist in the monitoring and delivery of Health and Safety duties in relations to projects and maintenance works. Ensuring compliance with CDM and other associated regulations.
Assist in developing and implementing the Borough's flooding contingency plans and liaising with the Environment Agency and other relevant bodies on these matters.

About You
We are looking for a self-motivated and talented individual to join our team who can provide excellent service to our community. We are looking for exceptional candidates with a range of skills including:
An environmental or Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent approved qualification in flood risk management or construction (such as a CIWEM accredited BSc/Post Graduate qualification) Note: this qualification level gives you access to Runnymede grade 9 to MMA(31,065 to 46,559).
or
Level 4 qualificationin a relevant STEM subject. Note this qualification level gives you access to Runnymede Grade 8 only, (27,991 - 31,065)
Municipal and Highway engineering
Project management of town centre infrastructure upgrades
Experience inspecting bridges, roads and town centre infrastructure
Collaborative working skills - working with residents, members and external parties to reached shared goals
