Job Introduction

We're seeking a skilled and proactive Multi Skilled Technician to join our team at IBF Sevington, Kent. You'll maintain and improve key building systems--electrical, HVAC, and general repairs--in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. If you're hands-on, reliable, and ready to support a high-profile site, we want to hear from you.

What you'll do:

Technical Duties

Operate, maintain, and repair a wide range of building systems including:

+ Electrical (LV substation systems)
+ HVAC systems
+ Water and sanitary systems
+ Building Management Systems (BMS)
+ Lifts, boilers, and fire alarms
Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and remedial works. Interpret technical schematics and drawings. Minimize downtime and ensure compliance with PPM schedules. Use of Maximo system for reactive and scheduled tasks. Work with specialist contractors and lead on designated plant/system responsibilities.

General & Reactive Maintenance

Multi-trade tasks including general building repairs beyond primary skillset. Support peers during absences (sick leave, annual leave). Prioritize workload with minimal supervision. Communicate clearly with clients, team members, and leadership.

Health & Safety

Adhere to all Health & Safety and COSHH standards. Complete and maintain H&S documentation and permit systems. Report hazards, near misses, and non-conformities promptly.

Training & Development

Undertake training and certifications as required. Mentor apprentices and contribute to team knowledge sharing. Maintain personal and professional development portfolios.

What you bring:

Essential:

Mechanical & Electrical Building Services qualification. Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Multi-trade capability. Experience in a Building Maintenance Organisation. Valid UK Driving License. Must pass Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) including DBS clearance. Flexibility to participate in shift rotation and on-call duties.

Desirable:

Additional building trade qualifications. Asbestos Awareness & CSCS Certification. HNC/HND in Engineering or Building discipline. Familiarity with PDA systems and statutory building maintenance requirements.
