About Us

Bedfordshire Growers is a large farming cooperative established in 1963. Started by a group of like-minded growers producing Brassica crops in the fertile soils of Bedfordshire. By the mid-70s Bedfordshire Growers was one of the foremost producers of Brussel Sprouts.

In 1980 Bedfordshire Growers started to commercially grow onions, initially Brown Onions followed by being the first company to introduce Red Onions to the UK.

Our primary focus is packing and distributing our growers product to market. Established to support local farmers in Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas, the Company has evolved to become a key player in the UK's fresh produce market.

The Role

This is a full-time on-site role for an Engineer. As an Engineer at Bedfordshire Growers, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of our farming equipment and machinery. This includes conducting regular inspections, diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring all equipment is operating at optimal levels. Your role will also involve collaborating with the operations team to optimize processes and implement improvements.

Key Requirements

Strong mechanical and technical skills in equipment maintenance and repair Experience with agricultural machinery and farming equipment Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and diagrams Ability to analyse and solve complex technical problems Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to work effectively in a team Relevant certifications or qualifications in engineering or a related field Experience in the farming or agricultural industry is desirable

Pay: Up to 50,000.00 per year
