Founded in 2019, WKE is an alternative fuel provider for heavy and energy-intensive industries such as cement and steel. We make solid recovered fuel (SRF) pellets from non-recyclable waste, diverting waste from landfill to help our customers achieve their decarbonisation goals and foster a circular economy. By manufacturing high-quality alternative fuels from non-recyclable materials, we turn waste into a valuable resource, driving sustainable industrial practices and a cleaner future for all.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Shift Engineer to join our team in our newly established manufacturing facility located in the Port of Middlesbrough. We are currently experiencing a period of significant growth, having transitioned from the commissioning stage to ramping up to full production and are therefore looking for someone who is eager to learn and passionate about system improvement.

Purpose of Role



As Shift Engineer you will give Engineering support to the shop floor as well as carrying out PM tasks to the highest of standards.

General Responsibilities



Supporting the shop floor engineering team Carrying out PM's Attending Breakdowns Looking for improvement solutions Co-ordinate the work of the Shift Engineers Report all issues via the relevant maintenance systems Issue permit to works and isolation procedures to both site staff and external service providers. (SAP) Maintain fixed plant and mobile plant machinery. Manage monthly stock levels and understand site inventory requirements. Ensuring all Tools are always in place (5's) Shift cover when required Die & Roller changes

Person Specification



Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience



Essential, any one of the following:



Time served apprenticeship NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering HNC/City & Guilds in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering

Desirable



IOSH Managing Safely Siemens Drive control understanding Electrical/Mechanical Trained

Key Experience



SCADA network PLC fault finding/programming Excellent fault-finding skills Basic computer skills including the Microsoft Package LOTO system operational knowledge Writing permits to work Working in a fast-paced production environment

Willingness to learn Ability to think outside the box Excellent time management skills Excellent technical skills Ability to work well under pressure
