An opportunity has arisen within the Engineering department for a full time Maintenance Engineer to work rotating morning and afternoon shifts. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the main purpose of the role is to provide an efficient mechanical and electrical engineering service to all plant buildings and machinery, ensuring minimum downtime.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



1. Perform reactive and proactive maintenance on a variety of process and packaging equipment across all sites.

2. Assess, manage and record food safety risks related to breakdowns and/or resultant engineering work.

3. Introduce troubleshooting of breakdowns across site to provide minimal downtime.

4. Support Production to facilitate production efficiency.

5. Perform ancillary building maintenance across all sites.

6. Drive a lean, effective, and 'Live' PPM system, ensuring the content is relevant and appropriate, ensure it is 100% complete and that time scales are reflective of the operation.

7. Involvement with various projects from Machinery and systems build.

8. Upgrades to minor building works.

9. Identify spares requirements.

10. Flexible approach to hours, covering all eventualities. Hours to suit business needs.

11. Populate and maintain the Technical records, OEM manuals and electrical drawings for all the equipment and facilities.

12. Monitor equipment reliability and performance data to highlight changes in equipment condition and potential reliability issues. Utilise this data to carry out effective preventative maintenance and to drive the content of an effective maintenance system.

13. Comply with (and be directly involved in completing, where necessary) the findings and requirements of the site Risk Assessments.

14. Help to ensure all Contractors continually work in a safe manner by ensuring the correct Risk Assessments and Method Statements are in place and the work is continually monitored to ensure compliance.

15. Ensure the Permit to Work system is utilised and is managed accordingly.

16. To liaise with management ensuring they are kept up to date at all times of breakdowns causing loss of production.

17. To ensure that new or overhauled machinery is installed in a safe and proper manner.

18. To monitor and maintain maintenance standards to comply with foods procedures requirements.

The role will be working Monday to Friday, rotating shifts of 6:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 with flexibility required to cover holidays, sickness and maintenance periods. An element of weekend overtime will also be required.
