GVG is a growing consultancy specialising in asset management and maintenance. We combine technical expertise with practical delivery to support clients across the UK. As we expand, we are seeking an Engineer (with NEBOSH or IOSH Qualification) to strengthen our consulting team.

Role Overview



We are looking for an Engineer to support our asset management consultancy. The ideal candidate will come from a mechanical, electrical, civil, or other engineering background and hold a NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.

You will work across a range of projects, supporting the development and implementation of asset management and maintenance strategies, asset data structures, and system configurations. A strong understanding of health and safety principles is essential to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key aspects of the role include reviewing and analysing asset data, developing maintenance plans, supporting the setup of asset management systems, and contributing to health and safety risk assessments. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, and efficient asset management solutions.

Key Responsibilities



Lead and support risk assessments, HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment), and method statements for client operations. Develop, review, and maintain Health & Safety documentation and Safe Systems of Work (SSoW). Conduct site inspections and audits to assess risk controls and compliance with statutory requirements. Support the delivery of asset management and maintenance projects for clients across key sectors. Assist in the development of asset registers and asset hierarchies. Contribute to the population and optimisation of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), including platforms such as SAP. Support the design and implementation of maintenance strategies and processes. Participate in technical problem-solving and process improvement initiatives. Work both independently and as part of a collaborative project team, with exposure to client-facing responsibilities. Visit industrial sites to verify asset data, gather information, and review compliance practices.

About You



Essential



Engineering degree in a relevant field. NEBOSH Certificate. Proven experience in Health & Safety management, risk assessment, and compliance within industrial, engineering, or construction environments. Strong understanding of UK H&S legislation and risk management principles. Excellent analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Confident communicator with the ability to engage with clients and colleagues at all levels. Willingness to travel to client sites across the UK.

Desirable



Experience working within asset management or maintenance projects. Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 55001 frameworks. Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP or Maximo. Experience in risk-based maintenance and safety critical asset management.

Salary: 30,000-40,0000 (dependent on experience)
