Engineering Apprentice

working while studying to achieve your

Maintenance and Engineering Operations Technician L3 Apprenticeship

. Equally ideal for school leavers or someone looking to start over.

As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment, supporting the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment. Under the guidance of experienced engineers and technicians, you will develop the technical skills necessary to contribute to the efficient production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist engineers and senior technicians in the installation, calibration, and maintenance of production equipment and machinery. -Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues, ensuring minimal disruption to the manufacturing process. Support the routine inspection and testing of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance. Monitor and adjust machinery settings as needed to maintain production efficiency and quality. Support day-to-day operations in the production area by assisting in machine setup, material handling, and workflow optimisation. Learn to interpret technical drawings.

Hand fitting, Milling, Turning, Wiring and testing electrical equipment and circuits Forming and assembling electrical cable enclosure and support systems, as well as bracketry Assembling and testing electronic circuits and maintaining electronic equipment/systems

Working Week:



07.00 - 17.00 Monday-Thursday - 1 hour for lunch plus 2 x 15 minute breaks07.00 - 12.00 Friday - 1 x 30 minute break

Salary:

Starting at 15,704 per annum in line with the Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage depending on age - please see the further information for details.

Qualifications Required:

GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 required to apply for this apprenticeship

Things to Consider:



Work will be onsite at the company's Head Office at Salfords, Nr Horley with one day per week at college at Crawley. Driving license would be an advantage and there are parking facilities on site. Public transport - Salfords train station has regular trains coming from Crawley, Three Bridges and Croydon. Train station is a 20-minute walk to the site although there are regular buses. This is a 39-month apprenticeship and applicants MUST BE free from full time education to be eligible to apply for it and have the minimum qualification level to apply for it Applicants

MUST BE

resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to the start of learning and have work authorisation for the UK. Applicants

WILL NOT BE

eligible to apply if they have already achieved a qualification which is equal to or higher thank the apprenticeship standard on offer. Applicants

MUST BE

resident in the area local to the apprenticeship opportunity or be prepared to relocate in time to start employment and study. Applicants

MUST BE

committed to the learning and stay to the end of the apprenticeship. Interviews: Shortlisted candidates will be invited into the office for an open day to see the site, have the chance to meet the team and be interviewed.

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is 7.55 per hour (As of the 1st April 2025). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16- to 18-year-old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their ages applies.
