Job Description

The Role

This is a varied and practical role supporting our engineering team. You will assist Field Service Engineers both on site and off site with their duties, including preparation, logistics, and technical support, while also taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the stores.

This role would suit someone with an interest in engineering, equipment, or mechanical and electrical systems, who enjoys a mix of hands-on and organised work.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Support

Assist Field Service Engineers with job preparation and equipment readiness Prepare, test, and check equipment before dispatch Support engineers with parts, tools, and technical information Assist with basic servicing, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment Help diagnose simple faults and carry out basic repairs where trained

Stores & Logistics

Manage the engineering stores and keep them organised and tidy Receive, check, and book in deliveries Pick and issue parts, tools, and equipment to engineers Maintain stock levels and report shortages Keep accurate records of stock and equipment movements

General Duties

Ensure health and safety procedures are followed Maintain a clean and safe working environment Carry out general workshop and yard duties as required Support the wider team as needed

Skills & Experience

Essential

Good organisational skills and attention to detail Practical, hands-on approach to work Ability to work well as part of a team Basic IT skills (emails, stock systems, spreadsheets) Willingness to learn and develop technical skills Full UK Driving License

Desirable

Previous experience in an engineering, stores, warehouse, or workshop role Interest or background in mechanical or electrical engineering Forklift licence (or willingness to train)
