We are seeking an Engineering Contracts and Facilities Coordinatorto join our excellent maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager at our Alfreton block plant site, the Engineering Contracts and Facilities Coordinatorhas overall responsibility and accountability for site contract and contractor management.
Hours of work
- 32 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (generally 8am - 4.30pm) at present, however flexibility will be required on occasion to meet the needs of the business. It is anticipated that hours of work will increase to 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, generally 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am - 3.30pm on Fridays from January 2026 onwards.
Responsibilities
Deliver the contracts and management requirements for all infrastructure assets, ensuring all site facilities, utilities, buildings and grounds meet requirements.
Work with the Maintenance Manager to deliver compliance with statutory inspections through third party contracts and contractors.
Screening contractors Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) and documentation ensuring they meet requirements.
Managing and overseeing contractors on a daily basis while on site including delivering inductions, reviewing RAMS, isolations and issuing the relevant permits for work.
Liaising with the Maintenance Manager regarding production downtime to carry out site facility repairs and process equipment statutory inspections and repairs.
Support the Engineering Projects Manager with contractor control as required.
Reviewing reports and third party quotations for failures and remedial work to be carried out.
Review rolling and up and coming cost on contracts with the Maintenance Manager and Purchasing.
Submitting quotations for review and creating OPEX/CAPEX list for discussion.
End to end management of key facilities projects and production of delivery schedule.
Experience
Experience of working with a CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
Experience managing contractors, reviewing RAMS and issuing permit to works.
Strong background within maintenance, ideally with technical knowledge in an engineering discipline, or proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Good knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.
IT literate with Excel and Word experience. Knowledge of generating PowerPoint presentations would be an advantage.
Proactive and forward-thinking.
Familiarity with maintenance equipment and facilities with an understanding of supplies procurement processes.
A good communicator, who is comfortable liaising with contractors and internal departments.
Ability to work well on own initiative and as part of a team.
