As the Engineering Director, you are the business leader for your area and you must be customer centric and focused on delivering customer successes to their satisfaction. You must take ownership and full responsibility for 'hitting your Zenergi budget and P&L numbers' by the effective planning, forecasting, operational delivery and leadership of three key teams - Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Design, Climate Change Engineers (CCE) and Energy Services.
You must be competent with all M&E design stages (RIBA 1-7), M&E condition surveys, have a knowledge of sitework activities, EV Infrastructure, Solar PV and relevant consultancy projects. You must also be technical enough to understand Climate Change Agreements & Legislation (CCA & CCL), Public Sector Decarbonisation Schemes (PSDS), Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF), Heat Decarbonisation Plans (HDP), Energy Audits, and Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS).
You will take a lead role in shaping the service offering for our clients. You'll be customer facing and collaborate with clients on their technical and mechanical engineering needs, provide technical knowledge and understanding of key components and support them with all technical work and reports. You will play a pivotal role in leading product development and strategic planning for the division and ensure we are at the forefront of latest industry changes and emerging technologies within the evolving energy market.

Own and deliver the departmental budget for M&E Design, CCE and Engineering Services, maintaining financial controls and governance to ensure profitability and achievement of targets.
Build and maintain a revenue-generating engineering services pipeline across the customer base.
Manage and grow technical partnerships, fostering relationships for growth opportunities.
Stay abreast of industry's best practices and emerging technologies related to engineering and infrastructure services and own and develop service offerings, ensuring technically viable solutions and analysis.
Guide organisations through M&E design requirements, from feasibility to construction and operation.
Collaborate with other departments to integrate engineering and infrastructure initiatives.
Define KPIs to monitor service quality, customer satisfaction, and team performance.

Conduct all tasks and actions delegated/issued/allocated to the Engineering Director (Delivery) by the COO
Lead and mentor three teams, fostering a culture of personal and professional growth.
Inspire, coach and develop teams to deliver excellent service to our customers.
Conducts regular one-to-one performance and development reviews with each team member to ensure their continued development, performance and success.
Ensure that all team members maintain their knowledge and awareness of our products, services and value proposition by arranging or conducting relevant training and development activities.
Conduct regular team meetings to support their team in delivering success and overcoming challenges.
Ensures that all People & HR related tasks and activities are completed and documented in a timely manner in line with our Company policies, procedures and the direction of the People team.

Knowledge & Qualifications Essential Desirable
Exceptional technical knowledge and the ability to communicate that knowledge to clients'.
Good working knowledge of industry regulations design and installations
Professionally qualified with a technical/engineering degree
Ideally professionally registered with CIBSE and/or IET.
Ideally a Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership status (the company would support in
this).
Good working knowledge of design standards and good working practices within the built environment.
Experience Essential Desirable
Minimum 10 years technical/engineering leadership experience in a similar role. u
Experience in project management of building services design projects, CDM, contract / cost management.
Experience in design calculation software packages: AutoCAD, Dialux and Trimble Amtech (for example).
