You will be a key member of Engineering and Maintenance team. You will be providing a high level of support to Engineering and Operations by leading the day-to-day control of Contractors on Site, ensuring they meet their Health & Safety obligations (legal, contractual and morally) whilst completing works on the manufacturing site. You will drive an improvements in Engineering compliance and Front-line training and Capability to support development of the front-line Engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
Issue and control permit to works for the site including their standard and compliance to local legislation and GEHSMS.
Control the standard of contractor works at site ensuring the safety of our employees and contractors.
Ensure the work that is being completed maintains the highest standard of work which does not impact the sites' ability to manufacture product.
Enforce consequences for non-compliance by contractors through the UK Contractor Management system.
Maintain and administer the site induction system.
Definition of competence standards for Walkers Permit To Work issuers through delivery and development (as required) of training and coaching systems to enhance skills and competence of persons managing PTW activity.
Engage contractors for the completion of works to maintain the sites infrastructure and utilities.
Implement Contractor Management and Permit to Work GEHSMS standards.
Lead and support improvements through CI initiatives and preventative actions.
Own and lead Engineering TNA to ensure Engineering training is in AOP.
Own and lead the CWSP Compliance metrics for engineering front line teams to ensure progress is being driven though the shift teams.
Support the Electrical duty holder & MESS Duty holder with maintaining Compliance.
Plan and organise to ensure trouble free and timely PTW completion.
Qualifications:
Engineering Background with an understanding of Engineering Maintenance tasks and activities.
Highly numerate, with analytical thinking, ability to support the Maintenance Team, Operations and others with decisions and judgements.
Highly motivated and a strong team player with good people skills, having effective written and verbal communication skills across a range of contacts, both within the organization and beyond. The ability to flex hours of working.
Computer skills, Excel, Word and capability to operate SAP.
Must demonstrate assertiveness and confidence to take an active part in meetings with fellow employees and external contractors at all levels.
Knowledge of the Packing and Process equipment.
Having a basic knowledge of plant product flow streams and how items of equipment can affect plant efficiency and quality of product.
