The Opportunity
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E)
is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E's integrated teams.
As a Group Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the engineering future of HPC and SZC. You'll lead a team of specialists, ensuring technical excellence, safety, and collaboration across projects. The salary range associated with this role starts from 64,000 dependent on experience (
Grade C)

What You'll Be Doing
As Group Lead, you'll oversee the functional management of your team, ensuring their development, competence, and alignment with project needs. You'll lead recruitment, manage resources, and champion a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality engineering delivery.
You'll be the bridge between technical excellence and project execution, ensuring consistency across teams and projects. Your leadership will help embed lessons learned, uphold safety standards, and drive innovation across the engineering lifecycle.
Collaboration is key. You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including project managers, HR, procurement, and technical authorities. Your role will be instrumental in maintaining a strong nuclear safety culture and a supportive, inclusive working environment.
Who You Are
You bring deep technical knowledge in your discipline, with a strong grasp of engineering codes, standards, and safety regulations. You're a confident communicator, able to build relationships across diverse teams and lead with empathy and clarity.
You hold a degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in engineering and have substantial experience in your technical field. You understand the EPR engineering process and have a track record of managing people, projects, and performance. Experience on the HPC project and a working level of French would be advantageous.
You're organised, collaborative, and passionate about delivering high standards. You're fluent in English and comfortable using tools like Microsoft Office and Navisworks. Most importantly, you're ready to lead with purpose and make a difference.
