HOURS: Full-time - 35 hours per week
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Bristol office.

As an Engineering Lead, you'll drive the success of our engineering teams, ensuring they have everything they need to thrive. You'll lead both day-to-day operations and long-term change initiatives, ensuring everything runs efficiently while constantly improving. You'll also make sure technology is at the heart of decision-making. Your deep technical background will be crucial in guiding the team and making strategic calls on risk, resilience, and cost management.
What you'll do
Inspire and guide engineering teams, empowering them to design, build, test, and deploy modular, cloud-native applications and APIs.
Champion cross-functional collaboration, working closely with Product Owners, Architects, Quality Engineers, and executive stakeholders to align technical delivery with strategic goals.
Drive architectural decisions and technical governance, ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
Integrate seamlessly with internal systems and third-party APIs, delivering smooth and intuitive user experiences.
Shape engineering strategy and innovation, influencing the future direction of our platforms, practices, and ways of working.
Mentor and develop talent, cultivating an inclusive environment where engineers can grow, thrive, and do their best work.

What you'll need
Experience leading and mentoring teams of dedicated engineers, cultivating a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Hands on Software Engineering background with experience successfully delivering large-scale applications using a broad set of tools, techniques, and platforms, including public cloud technologies.
Experience working with Java, Spring, Hibernate, REST APIs, JSON, and Microservices.
Knowledge of container environments in particular OpenShift, Service Mesh, and Helm.
It would be great if you also had
Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
Awareness of security considerations and security tools.
Some experience in operations and support, ideally following SRE principles.
