We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and oversee our established design engineering team. This role involves managing day-to-day design projects, driving innovation, and ensuring compliance with global engineering standards in the lifting solutions industry. The position offers the opportunity to work on complex custom-engineered lifting products serving diverse global sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and develop the Engineering team including performance appraisals and skills enhancement
Oversee the design, research, product development pipeline from concept to final release
Ensure all designs comply with applicable global standards (ASME, CE, UKCA)
Review and approve technical drawings, calculations, and FEA analysis
Maintain technical documentation, engineering standards, and product data
Manage departmental priorities, workload, software licensing, and budget
Provide technical expertise and represent the company in industry standards forums
Support Operations with load testing schedules and reporting
Ensure ISO accreditation compliance and act on audit corrective actions
Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or relevant Engineering discipline
Minimum 2 years' experience in Engineering Management or Team Leading
Proven leadership, communication, and project management skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to check complex technical drawings and calculations
Experience or willingness to quickly learn lifting industry standards and regulations
Ability to prioritize work in a dynamic environment with global customers
UK Nationality required due to MOD project sensitivity
Right to work in the UK and willingness to work on-site in Poole
