The Engineering Manager will lead and develop a high-performing engineering team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Ensure optimal equipment performance, oversee maintenance and facilities management, and drive efficiency through Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives. What the day job looks like:

As an

Engineering Manager

, you will:

Lead and develop the engineering team, fostering a high-performance culture. Oversee planned maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency. Manage capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance asset reliability. Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, environmental, and quality standards. Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis to reduce unplanned downtime. Control costs within maintenance and facilities budgets. Oversee site utilities (water, gas, electricity) and work with external contractors for facility upgrades. Be an active member of the HACCP team.

This role will suit you if:

You have a degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or similar). You bring strong leadership skills with experience developing high-performing teams. You have a proven track record in FMCG or food manufacturing environments. You are well-versed in Lean Management principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies. You excel in project management, handling multiple initiatives at once. You have in-depth knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance standards. You can think critically and problem-solve under pressure.

This role may not be for you if:

You prefer working without structured maintenance programs or process improvement initiatives. You are uncomfortable leading a team or making strategic engineering decisions. You struggle with budget management and cost control.

Terms

40 hrs/week (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Mon-Fri, with occasional weekend work). 6-month probationary period. Annual salary review - our 'movers and shakers' are always rewarded! 15% KPI-related bonus based on challenging but achievable goals. Easy commute required (45-min door-to-door commute times will only be considered).
