The Engineering Manager Role:
A privately owned, regional house builder with a strong presence across the Midlands is looking to appoint an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function across its residential developments.
This is a senior, hands-on role where you will take responsibility for all engineering and infrastructure matters during the construction phase of developments. You will work closely with construction, technical and customer care teams to ensure roads, sewers, utilities and communal areas are delivered correctly, adopted efficiently and handed over in line with agreed standards.
The role will also involve managing legacy infrastructure and adoption issues on existing sites, making it well suited to someone comfortable working across both live and completed developments.
Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager:

• Oversee all engineering and infrastructure elements across multiple residential sites
• Manage the delivery and adoption of roads, sewers and utilities, including legacy schemes
• Coordinate and manage external consultants, contractors and statutory providers
• Ensure works are compliant with planning approvals, technical standards and NHBC requirements
• Carry out inspections, monitor quality and oversee remedial works where required
• Support customer care teams with engineering-related issues post-completion
• Review and manage engineering and design information to ensure alignment with approved layouts
• Contribute to departmental budgets, bonds and cost control

Requirements for the Engineering Manager:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering-related discipline
• Proven experience in an Engineering Manager or Senior Engineering role within residential house building
• Strong working knowledge of highways, drainage, utilities and adoption processes
• Good understanding of Section agreements and relevant building regulations
• Comfortable managing consultants, contractors and technical risk
• Proficient in AutoCAD and familiar with local highway authority requirements
