Engineering Planner - Devonport Docks, Plymouth

PAYE: 400-450 per day
Carmichael UK is recruiting an experienced Engineering Planner to support a major infrastructure programme at Devonport Docks, Plymouth. This is a long-term PAYE contract opportunity working on one of the UK's most complex and secure engineering environments.
The Role
As Engineering Planner, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and monitoring project programmes to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of works within a highly regulated dockyard environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage detailed engineering programmes using Primavera P6 (or similar)
Coordinate with engineering, construction, and commercial teams
Track progress, identify risks, and manage programme changes
Produce look-ahead schedules and progress reports
Support earned value analysis and reporting
Ensure programmes align with site constraints, safety, and security requirements
Attend planning and progress meetings with internal teams and stakeholders
Requirements
MUST be NATO or British National due to security clearance
Proven experience as an Engineering Planner on large civil, infrastructure, or marine projects
Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 (essential)
Experience working in complex or highly regulated environments (dockyards, nuclear, defence, major infrastructure desirable)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Ability to work on-site at Devonport Docks
