Engineering Project Manager
Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for Engineering Project Manager to join our team responsible for the successful execution and delivery of engineering projects throughout their entire lifecycle from product introduction and improvement to in-production and in-service support. This role oversees scope management, resource allocation, technical delivery, and adherence to cost and schedule targets.

Main Responsibilities:
Customer Relationship ManagementEstablish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with internal and external customers.
Understand customer business needs, key stakeholders, and strategic objectives.
Act as the project owner, ensuring all requirements are captured and integrated into a sustainable delivery plan.
Communication & Stakeholder EngagementFacilitate clear, consistent communication across internal teams, site leadership, suppliers, and customers.
Present project updates confidently in both technical and business forums.
Navigate and manage challenging conversations and stakeholder expectations effectively.
Risk & Opportunity ManagementProactively identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities across the project lifecycle.
Develop strategies to ensure delivery predictability and achieve long-term financial goals.
Performance ManagementDrive project performance against KPIs including schedule adherence, profitability, and cost of poor quality (COPQ).
Support readiness for manufacture, supply chain resilience, and aftermarket service alignment.
Project Management & ExecutionDevelop and maintain business cases, project scope, and work breakdown structures (WBS).
Manage resource demand, budget, schedule, and technical solutions.
Contribute directly to technical solutions based on engineering expertise when required.
LeadershipLead, motivate, and direct cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and at the desired quality.
Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
Project ControlApply scalable and appropriate project control measures across financials, risks, change management, and stakeholder engagement.
Operate within recognized methodologies such as APM and PRINCE2 to support Ontic's engineering project governance.
Teamwork & CollaborationWork closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment and high team morale.
Foster a collaborative environment that supports the company's values and objectives.
About you:

Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven track record of managing and leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams on complex, high-stakes projects.
Extensive experience in aerospace product development, qualification, and transition to series production.
Background in defence projects is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of aerospace products and processes, including the design lifecycle, V&V, and AS9100 quality standards.
Proficiency in using project management tools and methodologies (PRINCE2, APM, PMBOK).
Skilled in work package management from requirements definition through to production.
Experience with configuration management and engineering change control.
Strong appreciation of Procurement, Design for Manufacture, Quality, and Production drivers.
Ability to plan engineering resources and develop robust cost and schedule estimates.
Strong leadership, team-building, and mentoring skills.
Proficient in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Lean tools).
Innovative thinker with a continuous improvement mindset.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to build rapport and influence across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Effective at engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
Additional AdvantageSystems engineering experience across electrical, mechanical, and software domains is a plus.
