Lead, coach, and support a team of multiskilled engineers across all shifts, ensuring high performance and strong communication.
Oversee both planned and reactive maintenance, balancing priorities to maintain high levels of plant uptime and reliability.
Ensure compliance with the Preventative Maintenance Plan (PPM) through effective use of the Ultimo CMMS system.
Analyse engineering downtime, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions to improve asset care and performance.
Use engineering data and KPIs to validate results, prioritise workload, and inform decision-making.
Support continuous improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, service, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
Promote a strong engineering culture built on safety, accountability, and teamwork.
Collaborate closely with Operations, Technical, HSE, Compliance, Ops Support and external contractors to deliver engineering excellence.
Ensure all engineering activities meet food safety, hygiene, and statutory compliance standards.
Ideally, This is You! Essential:
A minimum NVQ Level 3 in an engineering sector; an HNC/HND in Engineering or Leadership is highly desirable, with any additional relevant qualifications considered an advantage
Proven experience leading or supervising a multiskilled engineering team within manufacturing.
Strong technical understanding of asset care, reliability principles, and engineering best practice.
Confident using CMMS systems (Ultimo experience highly beneficial).
Strong influencing, communication, and coaching capability.
Ability to analyse technical data and make informed, practical decisions.
Highly organised, proactive, and able to lead effectively across a 24/7 operation.
A solid understanding of PPM, health and safety legislation, and engineering compliance.
Desirable:
Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG.
Knowledge of continuous improvement tools or approaches.
Understanding of bakery processes and automation systems.
Experience with small-scale projects or improvement initiatives.
