As a

Engineering Survey Manager

your role will be,


Delivering and managing all Engineering Surveying requirements for the project as the technical/operational lead on a project. Tasks will include engineering control, topographic survey, engineering surveying & setting out. Provide the site team with construction information, assist in QA/QC, and

support H&S (Health & Safety) and sustainability initiatives within the survey


department.

tender processes including budgeting forecasts

What you'll be doing



Lead and manage the surveying function on large-scale construction or

infrastructure projects, ensuring all survey data supports accurate design,


planning, and construction.
Define and implement surveying strategies, methodologies, and

standards in line with UK regulations (RICS, ICE, BS/ISO standards).
Oversee deployment of advanced surveying technologies & software

related to (GNSS, LiDAR, UAVs, BIM integration, digital twins)
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of surveyors (and where required,

survey technicians and Data Managers), ensuring capability and capacity


meet project demands.
Coordinate external survey contractors and ensure quality, safety, and

commercial compliance.
Develop and manage the surveying programme in line with overall project

timelines and milestones.
Monitor progress and provide early warnings of risks or deviations. Support handover and as-built documentation requirements for clients and

asset owners



Who we're looking for



Qualifications:


Relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent industry recognised qualification. Hold a valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme). SMSTS.

The following qualities/experience are essential:


Proven experience managing surveying operations on major rail, road,

structures, and power & distribution projects.
Strong leadership, organisational, and team management skills, with a

track record of mentoring surveyors and assistant surveyors.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise

effectively across project teams and stakeholders.
In-depth knowledge of survey-specific procedures, geodetic principles,

and construction-related surveying practices.
Extensive experience in preparing and implementing survey-related

Health & Safety documentation, including RAMS, Work Package Plans


(WPPs), and Task Briefing Sheets (TBSs).
High level of numeracy, with the ability to carry out complex mathematical

calculations and interpret survey data accurately.
