Envases UK, part of the privately owned Envases Group, are an internationally renowned manufacturer and supplier of specialist metal containers, serving a UK, European and US client base. Supplying into a range of Industrial and food industries, we have manufacturing capability from 125ml to 25 litre containers.

Engineering Team Leader



The job holder needs to understand the manufacturing principles, the effect of downtime and/or non-quality and the importance of procedures and discipline. The job holder should apply the EHS regulations, safety rules and participate in quality activities such as measuring and inspection, internal audits and continuous improvement etc.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Engineering Department. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager on continuous improvement, projects and the successful running of the Engineering Department whilst liaising directly with manufacturing and operations.

Key Result Areas:



Ensure planned and reactive maintenance is logged on the CMMS system and accessed to maximise production output. Contribute to the monthly OTIF KPI by achieving minimum output of 65% OEE Maintain good relationships with operations and manufacturing and maintenance colleagues. Implementation of CMMS system and PPM schedules. Assist Engineering Manager in successful achievement of department KPI's (PM Compliance, MTBF, MTTR & Budget expenditure)

Detailed Responsibilities:



To ensure the efficient running of the machinery on site. Managing the day to day activity of the engineering team, allocating tasks and recording downtime and fault analysis. Using this data to look at short-, medium- and long-term corrective actions. Ensure continuous improvement is a focus across the site, providing data for CAPEX applications. You will help develop and implement the CMMS system as we build preventative maintenance tasks and the implementation of PM's based on MTBF. Attend and participate in the daily production meeting Responsible for a safe and clean work environment. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager to drive the change from a predominantly reactive engineering department to a proactive and preventative department. You will also work closely with the operations team including production line leaders to Identify and implement cost and efficiency savings including down time analysis and scrap reduction.

Experience:



At least 5 years working in a manufacturing environment.

Experience working with automated robotics

Experience working with PLC control systems

Experience in fault finding from electrical schematics

Experience in fault finding from hydraulic & pneumatic schematics

Experience in fault finding on mechanical drawings

To be able to communicate technical issues to non-technical staff

5S experience

Experience within PM/TPM/CI

Experience within metal or another packaging environment desirable

Experience of power press desirable

Health and Safety accreditation.

Qualifications:



Apprenticeship trained in

Mechanical & Electrical Engineering

or equivalent.

Educated to HNC/HND in related discipline.

Minimum C & G craft qualification/NVQ level 3 qualification in related discipline.

To be considered, you will need to fit the following criteria;



Experienced engineering professional, with a track record of leading teams. Experienced in fast paced manufacturing environments. Ideally have worked with moulding equipment/ presses/ automated assembly lines. Be educated to HNC level (or equivalent) in engineering discipline.
