Working pattern: 4 on 4 off (Day Based)
Salary: Up to 60,000
Are you an Engineering Team Leader or Lead Engineer with experience of working in a manufacturing environment and looking to progress or up for a new challenge?
Due to continued growth and investment in our Engineering-led manufacturing sites, we have an opportunity for an Engineering Team Leader to support our bakery in Newburn. As a key part of our Engineering team, you'll engage and motivate a skilled team of engineers, utilising root cause analysis to identify and prioritise corrective, preventative, predictive and mitigating actions.

In this role you will lead, motivate, and manage a team of multi skilled engineers to drive a culture that delivers plant reliability, product quality, and safety in line with company standards. Working with the Engineering Manager you will have accountability for delivering the engineering strategy, via planned, corrective and reactive maintenance work.
The Role
You'll ensure the plant is safe to operate, maintain and that personnel conform to health and safety legislation, policies and standards, as well as lead a team of engineers to support the day to day operation by delivering planned and reactive maintenance to achieve engineering KPIs. You'll work within the framework of a Business led engineering reliability strategy with the effective use of SAP PM, and maintain equipment in line with relevant food safety legislation. As well as overseeing this you will help support the recruitment, motivation and development of an engineering team to ensure they achieve the goals and targets agreed in their role profiles and performance review meetings.
Essential Ingredients

  • Structured and practical engineering training (e.g. apprenticeship/HNC/degree).
  • Knowledge and experience of maintenance in an FMCG environment.
  • H & S/Food Safety systems and legislation knowledge e.g. PUWER, IOSH - able to ensure a safe working environment.
  • IT and PC knowledge is able to use widespread functions within relevant software (Inc Office and SAP).
  • Communicating skills is articulate/develops effective, long-term relationships with key people.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills , takes responsibility for the training and coaching of others.
  • Analysing and problem solving skills, anticipates problems before they occur and takes steps to deal with them/correctly and swiftly identifies the root cause of the problem.
  • Uses project management techniques to create effective plans with milestones, identifies areas of risk and delivers within agreed timescale and budget.
  • Makes timely decisions/takes account of the wider risks and implications.
  • Leadership skills , inspires others to perform/uses a range of leadership styles/deals effectively with performance issues/creates a sense of trust in the team.
