Who We Are

At Bay Photonics we specialise in prototyping and low-medium volume assembly of photonic and quantum device packaging that require a flexible and technically innovative approach.

Located in the Southwest of the UK, with our office in Paignton at the Electronics & Photonics Innovation Centre (EPIC), we are housed with other members of the Torbay Photonics Cluster ecosystem and together offer extended expertise and capability.

Role Overview

Be involved with technical demands and design solutions for the successful manufacture to the customers specification. The development of bespoke packaging requirements, including the assembly of components, wire bonding, fibre alignment, hermetically sealing and testing of the finished product. Program writing for auto equipment, including die bonders and wire bonders. Working with the mechanical design department Work with the supplier development team Working with the quality department Get an understanding of the sales and marketing strategies!

Desired Experience/Skills

Competent use of Microsoft Office software Experience in a manufacturing environment GCSE Maths (Grade C/4 or above), GCSE English (Grade C/4 or above)

Able to work collaboratively with team members, as well as independently using own initiative Highly motivated and willingness to learn Good communication skills Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus
