The NSR team at Gordian plays a pivotal role in essential research and quantity surveying initiatives that support Gordian's cost data products in the United Kingdom. In crafting construction schedules, our Quantity Surveyors gather data on materials, equipment (plant), and labour by engaging directly with suppliers and conducting online research from established and emerging sources nationwide. They input this information into our systems, ensuring precision in details such as rates, start dates, and sources, while integrating this data with other pertinent engineering information.
Gordian's NSR team is experiencing rapid growth and seeks quantity surveyors eager to advance their skills, build and strengthen industry relationships, and gain comprehensive knowledge of construction cost data and trends.
Responsibilities:
Developing new rates within the NSR schedules.
Research, data entry, updating or enhancing NSR schedules.
Review and research costs on a recurring basis through a prescribed time frame and efficient manner.
Collaborate directly with clients and internal resources to support special projects developing new NRM schedule tasks and procurement items.
Offer support to both internal and external customers in collaboration with Gordian's Customer Support team.
Utilize technical expertise to address and resolve a variety of issues, in addition to other Gordian products, where and when applicable.
Consistently consider new ideas and methodologies, implement complete solutions, and serve as a go-to for problem solving assistance for others.

All responsibilities are to be carried out within the department's program management framework that incorporates project oversight and agile methodologies. This approach ensures flexibility, transparency, efficiency, and collaboration in achieving project goals and supporting continuous improvement while increasing customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
A degree in a construction-related discipline, preferably in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management, or equivalent construction experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management, with essential knowledge of NRM2 and/or SMM7 schedules.
Strong understanding of construction technology and methods.
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, enterprise systems and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
Exceptional attention to detail, the ability to track data quality and results.
Proven problem-solving skills along with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
The ability to manage multiple ongoing projects, achieve deadlines effectively and the knowledge of when to escalate issues.
Excellent communication skills, and a desire to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
