The Role





West London Free School Primary is a member of Knowledge Schools Trust and is one of 34 schools nationally to be awarded the English Hub Status from the Department of Education. We are looking for an English Hub Lead to lead and support schools across our region to deliver excellent teaching in early language and reading in Primary and Secondary settings.


We are looking for an outstanding practitioner and leader who has experience and passion for the teaching of early reading and phonics. The role is based upon delivery of the DfE's three priority areas: Early Language Development; Age-Appropriate Phonics Provision; Developing a Love of Reading.





The right candidate will:



Be an enthusiastic and hard-working individual with excellent subject knowledge of the pedagogy of early reading. Be a motivated and pro-active person with a track record of excellent leadership and previous experience of leading school improvement. Lead and develop our team of Literacy Specialists, coordinating their work and overseeing the impact of school-to-school support. Be committed to leading on establishing and maintaining links with schools and establishments to support them to develop their practice. Lead our intensive school support, making decisions on allocated funding and resources. Use their excellent subject knowledge and communication skills to design and deliver our suite of CPD to schools, ensuring training is effective and engaging . Liaise with the Strategic Hub Lead and administration team to collate the information needed to meet deadlines for reports to the DfE. Take a lead role reporting progress made by the Hub against the three priority areas. Work closely with colleagues from the DfE and other English Hubs to ensure the Knowledge Schools Trust English Hub makes a positive contribution to the national programme. Work collaboratively with the wider Knowledge Schools Trust team to support our work. Be prepared to travel across the Hub's network, including schools outside of London.
