Job Title: English Teacher


Location: Belmont Secondary School, Rawtenstall, BB4 6RX


Salary: up to 38,000 per annum dependant on experience (not pro rata)


Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday


Contract: Permanent, Term Time only


Start date: October

About the role

Working under the guidance of the Senior Leadership Team and in line with school policies, you'll deliver high-quality English teaching tailored to the needs of individual learners or small groups.


Key Responsibilities


Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality English lessons aligned with the school's curriculum


Teach individual students or small groups in a supportive learning environment


Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress and adapt strategies to ensure success


Develop and implement individual education and behaviour plans in collaboration with colleagues


Contribute to school-wide initiatives aligned with the School Development Plan


Ensure classroom organisation and resources promote effective and stimulating learning


Take responsibility for English subject development across relevant key stages


Maintain a safe learning environment, adhering to risk assessments on and off site


Promote the educational, social, and moral development of students in line with the school's ethos


Qualifications & Requirements


A degree in English


QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or PGCE


Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students of all abilities


Experience of planning and delivering lessons that meet diverse learning needs


A commitment to upholding the Teachers' Standards and contributing to whole-school development
