Role Purpose




We are seeking an experienced, resilient, and creative

English Teacher

to join our team. You will play a crucial role in delivering and shaping the English curriculum in a way that is accessible, engaging, and relevant to pupils who have often experienced disrupted education and complex needs.


This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people by helping them develop key literacy skills while also nurturing their confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.

Key Responsibilities



Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated English lessons that meet the needs of pupils with SEMH and social communication challenges. Create a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters academic progress and emotional development. Develop positive, trusting relationships with pupils, using a trauma-informed approach to manage behaviour and support wellbeing. Assess, record, and report on pupils' progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly. Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals to deliver a holistic support plan for each pupil. Contribute to the wider school community, including pastoral care, enrichment activities, and school development initiatives.

About Music Stuff Education School




Music Stuff Education is an independent special school for secondary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We specialise in supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those with social communication difficulties and mild learning difficulties in a small group setting.


We believe in giving every pupil the opportunity to succeed through a relational approach and individualised teaching that meets both academic and emotional needs. Our pupils are able follow GCSE and entry level pathways.
