Key Responsibilities:
Working with a multi-skilled team, ensuring smooth production processes and producing quality signage, detailed below:
Designs and Prepares Files
: Use software like Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or SignLab to design signage graphics and prepare files for laser and CNC engraving.
Operate Laser Engravers
: Use laser engravers to cut and engrave materials, such as acrylic, wood, metal, and plastics, according to precise design specifications.
Operate CNC Machines
: Uses CNC engravers to carve or cut designs into various materials, focusing on precise depth, width, and shapes for large or dimensional signs.
Material Handling
: Select and prepare appropriate materials for each project, ensuring they are properly secured and aligned for accurate engraving.
Operate Sandblasting Equipment
: Use a sandblaster to carve into slate and granite signs. Ensuring the correct depth and quality is achieved.
Quality Control
: Inspect each piece for accuracy, ensuring the engraving or cutting meets design specifications and maintains quality standards.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
: Maintain the engraving equipment and perform basic troubleshooting to keep machines running efficiently.
Safety Compliance
: Follow safety protocols and proper handling techniques for both the equipment and materials.
Required Skills and Expertise:
At least 2 years of experience in the sign industry, including supervisory experience.
Software: Proficient in the following design and production software:
Adobe Illustrator
CorelDRAW
Photoshop
Technical Skills: Hands on experience with laser engraving and operating CNC engraver, and sandblaster.
Attention to Detail: Strong quality control skills with the ability to catch and rectify errors early in the process.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
