Job Introduction

Our mission is to give local families outstanding support through our welcoming Family Centres, which are based around MK.

We understand the pressure of family life and know that most families need additional help every now and again. We offer a range of services for children and families, as well as for expectant parents and grandparents.

We're seeking an Enhanced Practitioner to support our Family Centre Head in making sure we're using our resources sensibly to meet the needs of local families.

You'll also make sure safeguarding is well embedded in everything we do - we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all colleagues and volunteers to share this commitment.

This is a site-based role

Role Responsibilities
Support the Centre Head in co-ordinating the planning and reviewing of integrated service delivery and ensuring that assessed needs are met within the resources available. As the Deputy Designated Lead for Safeguarding, the post holder will be responsible for safeguarding and embed this across the centre making sure all safeguarding and health and safety requirements for the premises and the staff are met, in line with Milton Keynes Council policies and procedures. Support the design and delivery of Family Centre services programme that reflects and responds to local need. Develop and implement strategies, such as one to one and outreach sessions designed to engage with hard to reach families, promoting and encouraging their participation in Family Centres. Plan, promote and deliver a range of activities that support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Provide support to case workers ensuring that Early Help assessments are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Support and lead a clear and consistent approach to monitoring and evaluating the work with children and families so that the impact can be regularly assessed.

Ideal Candidate
+ Someone who holds an Early Education or Childcare related qualification, with some practical experience of working with children and families. + Possesses a range of IT Skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office.
+ Ability to manage a challenging workload.
+ Someone who has the ability to demonstrate empathy, respect confidentiality with the ability to develop appropriate relationships with others to ensure positive outcomes for families are achieved.
+ Someone with practical knowledge of a range of early childhood services available to support families.
DBS Enhanced Should you be offered the role, as part of the pre-employment checks an Enhanced DBS will be actioned for you (unless you are on the DBS Update Service).

Our roles are either designated 'site based' or 'home based'. 'Site based' roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst 'home based' roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
