An exciting new opportunity has arisen, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, nurturing individual, who has a positive and solution focused attitude to join our team within our Intensive Support Provision.



In this role, you will work closely with staff within the Intensive Support to deliver tailored learning programmes for children and young people with complex and enduring additional support needs. You will also provide essential support to the class, ensuring the care, wellbeing, and health and safety of all pupils.



This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team within the ISP, as well as with a range of partner agencies involved in supporting each child or young person.



You will also support children at break and lunchtimes, working with children to encourage active play and supervising wellbeing.



There may also be opportunities to support pupils across the school and on out of school activities such as swimming.

Requirements

You will ideally have knowledge and experience of working with learners with a range of additional support needs and be interested in pursuing a career working in an educational environment.



We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate experience (paid/voluntary) of supporting children and young people with additional support needs.



A genuine interest in the development of children, their communication, sensory needs and wellbeing is essential, and the important qualities are empathy, patience and an ability to engage with children and young people in a positive way.



Knowledge of a wide range of learning needs and how to foster positive relationships would be an advantage.



You will understand the need for confidentiality and be able to work sensitively to support learners and their families. You will also be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively within a team and on your own initiative.



You will have excellent communication skills and a positive approach to working with children.
