About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-driven Enrolment Consultant to join our Onboarding team at Instep UK. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth, compliant onboarding of apprentices identified by our employer partners.
You will manage the end-to-end enrolment process, ensuring candidates meet eligibility requirements, compliance documentation is completed accurately, and ESFA funding rules are adhered to. Acting as a key point of contact for learners and line managers, you'll provide a professional, consultative service that supports successful apprenticeship starts.
Key Responsibilities
Candidate & Line Manager Onboarding
Accurately register candidate and line manager details on Instep systems
Ensure timely, error-free data entry and maintain data integrity
Proactive Engagement & Communication
Engage proactively with candidates and line managers interested in apprenticeships
Clearly explain programme requirements, eligibility criteria, and compliance documentation
Deliver high-quality communication via phone, email, and other channels, aligned with Instep's tone of voice
Assessment & Eligibility
Conduct Programme Appraisals assessing knowledge, skills, and behaviours
Administer Maths and English assessments
Review eligibility evidence in line with ESFA funding rules
Compliance & Documentation
Communicate the importance of Apprenticeship Agreements and Training Plans
Ensure documentation is completed accurately and returned on time
Confirm key learning start dates with candidates
Acceptance & Advisory Support
Apply ESFA eligibility and funding rules confidently
Take a consultative approach to confirm acceptance or recommend suitable alternatives
Reporting & Data Accuracy
Produce enrolment stage reports for management
Identify process improvements to streamline onboarding
Maintain a high standard of data accuracy and complete regular audits
Safeguarding
Act as a safeguarding advocate, recognising and reporting concerns in line with policy and statutory guidance
Bonus Structure
Instep offers a monthly performance-related bonus to recognise successful onboarding outcomes:
10 per successfully processed apprentice start
Based on compliance checks, ILR entry, and successful funding claims
Example:
50 successful learners processed = 500 bonus
Bonuses are reviewed monthly and are subject to organisational performance metrics.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
Experience supporting accurate and compliant public funding claims (e.g. Apprenticeships, AEB, ESF)
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a caseload of around 50 learners
Experience using management information systems (Aptem desirable)
High-accuracy data entry skills
Clear, professional communication skills
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel essential)
Level 2 English and Maths or above
Desirable
Experience supporting ESF compliance and funding claims
