As the
Enterprise and Innovation Officer
, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of various enterprise activities. Your role will span several key areas, including
business development
,
market access
,
intellectual property management
,
capacity building
, and
programme operations
.
You will collaborate closely with a diverse team and engage with stakeholders both within and outside the institution. The postholder will help ensure the smooth running of projects aimed at promoting innovation and supporting the broader mission of LSTM.
Key responsibilities will include:
Programme and Project Support
Provide flexible and proactive support to a range of Enterprise & Innovation (E&I) activities, contributing to the delivery of programmes and projects in market access, business development, ventures, and innovation capacity strengthening.
Assist in the coordination of E&I-led workshops, seminars, and capacity development initiatives, supporting logistics, communications, and participant engagement.
Support the organisation of stakeholder and partner engagement activities, including meetings, briefings, and events across enterprise functions.
Business Development, Market Access, and Ventures Support
Contribute to business development activities by supporting the identification and collation of relevant partnership, market, and funding opportunities.
Assist in the preparation of briefing notes, proposal materials, and promotional content for external partners and business contacts.
Provide support for ventures and enterprise pipeline activities by maintaining records of projects, tracking enquiries, and supporting engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in market research and data gathering to inform market access, commercialisation, and partnership strategies.
Innovation Capacity Strengthening and Stakeholder Coordination
Work closely with the Head of Innovation Capacity Strengthening to support internal and external training, skills development, and knowledge exchange initiatives.Act as a professional first point of contact for E&I enquiries and programme participants.
Lead/support writing of academic publications & white papers, communications and coordination with academic, professional services, and external partners involved in E&I capacity building projects.
Operational and Administrative Support
Provide light operational support across E&I activities, including maintaining accurate records, monitoring key project deadlines, supporting internal reporting requirements, and coordinating routine administrative tasks.
Support the preparation and distribution of reports, briefing papers, and updates for internal and external audiences.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as an integral and flexible member of a fast-paced collaborative environment. You will be able to demonstrate:
Educated to degree level in a relevant field (e.g. life sciences, innovation, business, or health-related discipline)
Experience supporting complex programmes or projects within a higher education, research, or innovation setting
Experienced at managing multiple projects with a demonstrable ability to select and prioritise projects
Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, including academic and professional service teams
Experience managing administrative and reporting tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools (e.g. Teams, SharePoint,)
