The role of an Entry-Level Electrical Technician is ideal for someone with a hands-on approach, a willingness to learn, and an interest in electrical systems and renewable energy.
This position is central to our work in installing and maintaining systems that help clients monitor and manage their energy usage. The role focuses on supporting the installation of low-carbon technologies and energy efficiency solutions across a range of commercial and public-sector buildings, from warehouses and shops to care homes and schools; while ensuring safety and technical accuracy. Full training will be provided, making it a great opportunity for those looking to begin a career in the electrical or energy sector.
Requirements of the role:
The role will be focused on supporting the installation and maintenance of solar panel systems, energy meters, and data logging equipment for our clients. It will report to a senior technician or team lead, who will oversee training and overall performance.
The role will involve working on-site in various environments and will require the ability to follow technical instructions, adhere to safety procedures, and handle tools and equipment responsibly. The holder will be expected to communicate clearly with team members and occasionally with clients, manage tasks independently as their skills develop, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow in a technical field. Basic IT skills and the ability to accurately record activity using company systems will also be essential.
Key Responsibilities (with Training):
The role of Electrical Technician requires the delivery of all or part of the following depending upon qualifications, knowledge and experience. In areas where qualifications, knowledge and experience are not sufficient development will be provided over a period of time.
Learn to install data logging devices according to company standards
Assist in replacing loggers, transmitters, and other metering equipment
Support in identifying and helping to resolve faults with equipment
Help with the installation and commissioning of AMR (Automated Meter Reading) devices
Participate in solar PV system installations on rooftops and ground-mounted structures
Follow guidance to safely perform electrical connections and understand safety regulations
Observe and follow electrical schematics during installations
Help ensure all tasks are carried out safely, reporting any hazards in real time
Contribute to the delivery of small projects and assigned tasks
Represent Elemental positively while working with colleagues, clients, and partners
Work independently or as part of a small team in various environments
Adhere to all health and safety and PPE requirements
Use hand and power tools effectively (training provided)
Be open to working outside standard hours when needed
