The role
The Environmental Advisor supports Vital Energi's Senior Environmental Advisor and wider ESG team by assisting with the delivery and continual improvement of Environmental Management Systems across the business. The role involves providing critical support to environmental management systems, energy management systems, carbon reporting processes, and sustainability across multiple workstreams on sites-based UK-wide.
Maintain the company's ISO 14001-certified EMS; schedule and support delivery of internal audits and management review meetings, track non-conformances and coordinate external surveillance audits.
Assist with managing and updating the company's Environmental Aspects and Impacts Register
Assist site teams in the development and implementation of Project Environmental Plans to support project goals and sustainability targets.
Carry out planned site visits to audit performance against Project Environmental Plans, raising corrective actions and sharing lessons learned across projects.
Participate in training and guidance to project teams on environmental best practices and regulatory requirements.
Respond to environmental incidents and emergencies, providing expert advice and support for resolution.
Collate, validate and submit data required for Producer Responsibility Packaging Waste returns, WEEE take-back reporting and any other extended-producer responsibility schemes.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and clients, under the supervision of the Senior Environmental Advisor, to ensure effective communication and compliance with environmental standards.
Run quarterly uploads to the Greenly data model for Scopes 1-3, acting as liaison between the ESG and Finance teams.
The Person
Qualifications- Candidates should be Degree qualified (Bachelor's or higher) in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field
