We are Recruiting: Environmental Health Officer - Health Protection
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Enviromental Health Officer to support a Health Protection Team within a busy local authority in the Shropshire area.
Rate: 50 per hour (via Umbrella Company, Inside IR35)
Start Date: 3rd November 2025
Duration: 3 month (6 weeks from 3rd Nov ? 2 weeks off mid-Dec ? 6 weeks from Jan 2026)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct food hygiene and health & safety inspections (retail & catering premises)
- Investigate complaints and provide regulatory advice
- Prepare legal reports and undertake enforcement action where required
- Support health protection priorities and contribute to service improvements
- Degree in Environmental Health (or equivalent)
- EHRB registration and food inspection competency
- Minimum 2 years' experience within a local authority EH team
- Strong understanding of food law, H&S and enforcement processes
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
