Job Description
The Placement Student will be required to integrate into our Environmental and Sustainability Team and assist in a wide range of activities relating to the current environmental portfolio and projects.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work towards reducing our carbon footprint and increasing annual targets for carbon reduction. This will require problem solving and idea generation to think of alternative ways of doing things. Ensure we identify and demonstrate compliance with all environmental legislation in NI including identifying new legislation that is likely to be implemented in the future. Help manage and track our energy costs and usage and help identify and manage project work aimed at reducing our energy use. This will require interpersonal and teamwork planning, evaluating work; recognising, respecting and evaluating views and opinions; reflecting and evaluating performance. Identify efficiencies in major utilities - gas, water and electricity incorporating rendering facilities, steam systems, hot water reduction, refrigeration and compressed air systems.
Knowledge & Experience
We are looking for under-graduates studying an Environmental or Sustainability related degree. In addition individuals should be:
Keen to progress and learn Self-motivated with a positive outlook Analytical in their approach Focused on attention to detail and maintaining high standards Great communicators with an ability to influence others * Highly computer literate
