Job Description

Permanent position, full-time: 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday (8am \xe2\x80\x93 4pm) (+ occasional weekend work)

Role: to undertake environmental monitoring in the field for commercial and key account clients throughout the UK. This is managed from a laboratory in Coventry, but a large amount of driving is required. This will be using a temperature controlled refrigerated van. Sample locations are varied and you must be prepared to work out side in all weathers. The successful candidate must hold a full, clean, UK driving licence.

Key Accountabilities will include:-

• Undertaking sampling of \xe2\x80\x93

• ground waters
• surface waters
• trade effluent
• waste water
• potable waters
• gas
• legionella
• dust

• Carrying out on-site field-testing using calibrated scientific equipment.

• Accurate recording and reporting field data in line with quality procedures.
• Ensuring Health and Safety requirements, procedures and policies are adhered to.
• Transportation of samples in line with clearly defined temperature control requirements.
• Driving in a safe, legal manner at all times whilst on the Public Highway.
• Adhering to all on site requirements when at customer sites.
• Being the \xe2\x80\x9cpublic face\xe2\x80\x9d for the company and liaising with clients and on site contacts in a polite and professional manner.
• Ad hoc duties as required.

Candidate:

To be successful in this role you will require the following:

• Ability to work unsupervised
• Good organisational skills
• Attention to detail
• Physically fit and to be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• To be able to travel within the UK, with potential for occasional stop overs.

Skills and Experience

• Highly organised and motivated.
• Ability to follow procedures.
• Full Clean UK driving Licence.
• Experience of working to Health and Safety and Quality Management System guidelines.
• Preferably some experience in environmental monitoring but not essential.
