About the job

As our Environmental Specialist you will establish and embed environmental governance and processes for our growing Vattenfall Heat UK business. Champion the importance of protecting biodiversity in the construction industry.

Priorities:

  • Establish and embed environmental governance and processes
  • Assure compliance with environmental corporate governance and regulations
  • Advise on environmental aspects in design, site activities and operations
  • Assure required documentation in relation with environmental permits and other environmental legal obligations
  • Identify environmental risks and find solutions to reduce/ avoid those
  • Conduct & support environmental incident investigation and reporting towards the organization (Lessons Learned\xe2\x80\xa6) as well as environmental authorities
Outlook:
  • Establish clear roles & responsibilities, tools & processes for environmental reporting (Vattenfall internal, Regulatory external, EU Taxonomy and other)
  • Drive environmental initiatives within Heat UK in alignment with corporate functions to reduce our environmental footprint to be able to provide sustainable energy solutions for our customers and business partners
  • Ensure that Vattenfall\'s business operations produce the lightest possible environmental footprint and where possible, improve the biodiversity and ecological health of the sites we operate
  • Be involved in environmental target setting and follow-up

Profile:
  • Passion for environmental protection and sustainability
  • Accuracy and a preference for processes and documentation
  • Good communication skills and collaboration willingness
  • Resilience when confronted with difficult situations or resistance

Your profile
  • Relevant degree (Environmental, Chemical or other Engineering Disciplines or Legal) or NEBOSH Environmental Diploma or equivalent education preferred
  • Experience in environmental fields (authorities, chemical or energy industry)
  • Insights in UK environmental legislation
