Specifically, the Environmental sustainability Manager will take on a lead role on internationally recognised major infrastructure projects, working with the Binnies Environmental Team, the wider RSK technical specialists. The candidate should be experienced in delivery of environmental management and developing solutions to ensure that the critical topic is engrained within the project.

About the Role

  • Providing environmental management on major infrastructure construction projects - design and construction phase;
  • Assessing the environmental effects, developing mitigation proposals and implementing environmental designs;
  • Developing and implementing environmental design compliance procedures & reporting;
  • Developing, implementing and improving EMSs certified to BS EN ISO 14001;
  • Working to statutory environmental requirements;
  • Implementing the waste hierarchy, circular economy principles/approach, beneficial re-use;
  • Identifying sustainable materials, materials exchange programmes and carbon management;
  • Managing sustainability assessments, rating and awarding schemes for major infrastructure (e.g., CEEQUAL);
  • Working with consents managers and community/stakeholder/PR managers;

The role is suitable for an experienced professional. You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:
  • Demonstrating leadership skills to manage project teams and create positive change
  • Ability to work under time pressure and balance multiple priorities
  • Excellent communicator with staff, clients and partners
  • Collaborative individual that effectively builds teams Essential
  • Experience in successful delivery of major infrastructure projects
  • Chartership in Environmental discipline/institution
