Would you like to be part of the Remote Patient Care team delivering an invaluable service to the patients of Yorkshire?Would you like to work for an ambitious and challenging organisation which will share your passion for high quality patient care?Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust is now recruiting for Senior Clinical Advisors in our Emergency (999) Operations Centres based in Wakefield and York with course start dates from 30 June 2025 onward.We are currently only recruiting clinicians who are RN1 and HCPC Paramedic registered. We do not accept NMC PRN Pin as it does not fulfil the essential criteria for the role.Here at Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) we have hugely exciting developments and opportunities lined up over the next few years and are looking for individuals who are highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed to assist with these changes.Main duties of the jobThe Senior Clinical Advisor is responsible for the assessment of health and clinical needs, utilising professional clinical judgement, supported by decision support software.This requires generalist and specialist skills as a telehealth professional to assess and deliver care to patients.Applicants should have experience in emergency care, assessment of high acuity symptoms, a broad knowledge of conditions and an understanding of red flag symptoms and consequence.As a Senior Clinical Advisor, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following key skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work with a variety of clinical specialists to ensure safe clinical processes for patients
  • The ability to make quick safe clinical decisions under pressure and the ability to assess and identify red flag symptoms and conditions
  • Undertake referrals to internal and external clinicians
