Position Title: Project Manager - Supplemental Cementitious Material Facility Location: Selby, North Yorkshire (on-site) Reporting To: Head of Delivery, Global Project Team Contract Type: Fixed-term or freelance (18-24 months, with potential extension) Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00 Start Date: On or before 31 October 2025

Overview



We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a Supplemental Cementitious Material Facility based in Selby, North Yorkshire. This is a site-based position requiring daily attendance; therefore, candidates must live within a commutable distance and have their own transport. The role is offered on a fixed-term or freelance basis, with freelance applicants required to hold appropriate insurances.

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of the scheme in accordance with the approved scope, programme, and budget. This includes close collaboration with internal stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers, whilst reporting to the Head of Delivery within the Global Project Team.

Key Responsibilities



Lead the project from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery within agreed timeframes, budgets, and quality standards. Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations Conduct and oversee site quality audits, including inspection and test plans. Undertake health and safety audits, ensure compliance with UK legislation and CDM 2015, and manage remedial close-out actions. Chair and coordinate project meetings in line with contractual scope. Provide regular progress reports to senior management with the support of others. Manage risk assessments and mitigation strategies to reduce project exposure. Interpret technical drawings, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Utilise Microsoft Project to programme, monitor, and report against milestones. Ensure all work is delivered in alignment with UK health and safety law and internal quality management systems.

Essential Criteria



Bachelor's degree or NVQ Level 6 (or above) in a construction discipline. Health and Safety Qualifications, NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) SMSTS, Temporary Works Cerificate, CCNSG, IOSH Managing Safely In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations 2015. Demonstrable experience as a Senior Manager delivering major projects (>20 million) as the lead on site. Practical knowledge of NEC4 ECC Options A and C. Strong background in Electrical and Mechanical disciplines within an EPC environment. Proven ability to appraise and write risk assessments and method statements (RAMS). Skilled in quality management and contract management software. Proficiency in Microsoft Project (able to create, assess, and report on programmes). Excellent command of English, both written and verbal. Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and team management skills.

Desirable Criteria



Ability to use CAD or other design software. Understanding of L153. (CDM) Minimum of ten years of uninterrupted and continuous work in the UK. Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIOB, ICE, or similar). Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems. Financial and commercial awareness, with experience in CAPEX and Budgetry management. Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.

Physical and Site Requirements



Ability to work at heights exceeding 20m on staircases without lift access. Capability to walk across undulating terrain. Intermittent manual handling and lifting in line with regulations.

Employment Terms



Salary/day rate: Negotiable, dependent on experience. Potential end-of-contract retention bonus. Freelance candidates must provide evidence of valid insurance.
