We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented ERP Specialist - Master Planner / Master Scheduler to lead production planning and schedule activities in a dynamic metal fabrication environment for 6 months. This role is critical to ensuring efficient material flow, optimised production schedules, and on-time delivery to customers. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with ERP systems and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and supply chain coordination using Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) tools

Shift Pattern:

Day shift - 39 hours per week working 07.30 to 16.30 Monday to Thursday, and 07.30 to 12.30 on Fridays, with designated breaks

Key responsibilities include:





Planning & Scheduling



Develop and maintain the Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) system to align production with demand forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels. Create and manage detailed production schedules to optimise machine utilisation, labour, and material availability. Coordinate with purchasing, engineering, and production teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components. Monitor and adjust schedules to respond to changes in demand, capacity, or supply disruptions.

ERP System Management



Utilise the company's ERP system to manage planning, scheduling, and inventory control functions. Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of BOMs, routings, work orders, and inventory records. Generate reports and dashboards to track performance metrics such as OTD (On-Time Delivery), schedule adherence, and capacity utilisation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration



Work closely with the Planner, Sales, Customer Service and Operations to align production plans with customer requirements. Support daily/weekly production meetings to communicate schedule updates and resolve conflicts. Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline planning and scheduling processes.

Inventory & Capacity Management



Analyse inventory levels and lead times to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce excess. Perform capacity planning to identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions by working with the Planner to support SIOP activity Develop contingency plans for material shortages or equipment downtime.

Data Accuracy & Root Cause Analysis



Investigate and identify the root causes of data inaccuracies in planning, scheduling, or inventory records. Collaborate with relevant departments to resolve issues and implement corrective actions. Ensure continuous improvement in data integrity across ERP and APS systems.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications



IT Skills



E - Microsoft Office, intermediate to advanced excel, intermediate to advanced PowerPoint

General Employee Competences



E - Problem Solving D - APICS CPIM or CSCP certification D - Experience in problem solving newly introduced ERP systems D - Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. D - Familiarity with Metal fabrication processes




Academic Achievements



D - Bachelor's Degree (masters preferred)




Professional Qualifications



E - Full driving licence D - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field D - 5+ years of experience in production planning and scheduling in a manufacturing environment, preferably metal fabrication. E - Proficiency in ERP systems and APS tools
