ABOUT THE ROLE

An opportunity to use Building Surveying skills to help Clients drive the ESG agenda, providing practical, simple and clear advice.

Working with our specialist ESG team focusing on pre-acquisition due diligence surveys, Net Zero Asset Plans and ESG project delivery. You will be contributing to the transformation of property portfolios into the sustainable real estate assets of the future.

You should have a good technical understanding of property, be able to communicate sometimes complex subjects simply and have a real passion for sustainability and building performance within real estate.

Clients include leading institutional, overseas and sector specialist investors striving for returns and as such the candidate will be commercially focussed and able to challenge current thinking to shape our recommendations to fit the Client\xe2\x80\x99s business plan.

LOCATION Bristol

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Manage a full range of ESG instructions on a variety of commercial properties, including offices, retail, logistics and private rented residential developments
  • Work will include ESG focused pre-acquisition due diligence surveys, development monitoring, project management, net zero asset plans as well as minimum standards for refurbishment and development
  • Project work can typically range from \xc2\xa3100k to \xc2\xa330million where we are engaged to set the ESG project brief at the outset and then ensure the project team are challenged to drive performance targets in line with client policies and standards as well as emerging UK targets
  • You will be responsible for delivering a variety of instructions within the deadlines set, with support from an experienced management team when required
  • You will have opportunities to work directly with clients, developing relationships and securing further instructions
  • Assisting with preparing fee bids, presenting pitches and briefings to Clients
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • RICS qualified or nearly qualified Chartered Building Surveyor (or similar technical qualification)
  • Beneficial to have ESG/sustainability experience relative to building surveys and project delivery
  • It will be beneficial to have knowledge of energy modelling, whole life carbon assessments, BREEAM, net zero pathways
  • Interpersonal, relationship-building and networking skills
  • Confident working with multi discipline project teams to interrogate and challenge design proposals
  • Good time management, able to multitask and prioritise your workload
  • The ability to interpret, compare, challenge and summarise information from various technical sources with clear and concise writing skills
  • Teamwork skills and the ability to lead and motivate others
  • A practical, flexible and innovative approach to work
